An NPN NO (Normally Open)(COSTS-220+GST )  sensor is a type of proximity sensor or switch that uses NPN transistor logic and has a Normally Open output configuration.

• In NPN sensors, the output switches to ground (0V) when activated.

• The sensor "sinks" current from the load.

• The load is typically connected between the sensor's output and a positive voltage (+V).

• Normally Open means the output is open (off) when no target is detected.

• When the sensor detects an object, the output closes (turns on) — allowing current to flow.

• Proximity detection in automation: When a metal object comes close, the sensor output goes LOW (0V), which can be detected by a PLC or microcontroller.

• Brown (V+): Connect to +24V DC

• Blue (GND): Connect to 0V (Ground)

• Black (Output): Connect to the input of the PLC/load; load is connected to +24V

When the sensor detects a target:

• The black wire is pulled to 0V

• The current flows through the load to ground — completing the circuit

Digital temperature sensors can convert temperature physical quantity and humidity quantity into a digital sensor through a temperature and corresponding circuit.
